Hey there!

First of all, we would like to thank you for your continued support of both the Melbourne Liverpool Supporters Association (MLSA), and Liverpool Football Club.

Since the MLSA was formed in mid 2005, it has been our prime objective to provide the passionate Liverpool supporters of Melbourne with the best possible environment for the viewing of matches involving Liverpool FC.

We have taken great satisfaction in watching the group grow over the last 5 years, uniting fans from all over Melbourne. We have also been blessed with the sharing together of some of Liverpool Football Club’s greatest achievements of recent times, such as our European Cup win over AC Milan in 2005; and our thrilling win against West Ham in the 2006 FA Cup final.

Earlier this year, the newly formed MLSA committee have undertaken a thorough review of all aspects of the group, in order for us to secure the MLSA’s long-term future.

After months of careful planning, extensive research, and helpful feedback from current members, the committee have come to the decision that dramatic steps need to be undertaken if the MLSA is to grow, and continue to thrive going forward.

One of those key elements evaluated, was the MLSA’s partnership with the Celtic Club, which has been the base of our operations since our early beginnings in 2005.

The arrangement has mostly been an enjoyable one, which has allowed us to develop the group, and give Liverpool supporters a central venue in which they can enjoy the company of fellow like minded Reds.

However, we found that the current terms of the relationship did not assist us in implementing our future plans for the MLSA, thus putting the group’s long-term viability at risk.

With many of our members seeking more televised games to be shown, along with improved benefits for those who attend them, the committee decided to explore the possibility of moving to a new venue in time for the 2010/11 European football season.

The Imperial Hotel

With the MLSA eager to offer our members a better deal, the MLSA committee have been proactive in locating a suitable new home for our supporter’s group over the past 12 months.

Earlier this year, the MLSA committee was presented with a formal proposal from the Imperial Hotel, Melbourne – which was officially accepted on the 9th of June, 2010.

The MLSA has now committed to the Imperial Hotel as our preferred venue to watch matches featuring Liverpool FC, as well the location of any future club themed events that the club will hold in the future.

The Imperial Hotel is one of Melbourne’s most popular pubs, located a stones throw from Parliament House, at the Paris end of Melbourne’s CBD.

With a large screen and projector, several additional large plasma televisions, an extensive bar area, a superb restaurant menu and upstairs function room - the Imperial Hotel is an ideal fit for Melbourne’s ever-growing LFC community.

Location:
The Imperial Hotel
2-8 Bourke Street (Cnr Spring & Bourke Streets), City.

We have taken great care in ensuring that the Imperial Hotel will be able to provide the best possible environment for our members, as well as offering special benefits to reward their ongoing loyalty to the MLSA.

Planning is already well underway for the coming season, which will include a series of promotions, including a new membership scheme in time for the first English Premier League match in mid-August, 2010.

Our aim is to establish a direct relationship with our supporter base, and better communicate with those who enjoy attending our events.

Further details on our move to the Imperial Hotel, and the MLSA membership on offer will follow in the coming weeks, with those on our mailing list being notified via email.

If you have any questions regarding the move, then feel free to post your questions on the appropriate thread by clicking *HERE* or send a PM to one of the moderators, who will be happy to answer any queries you may have.

Once again, we thank you for your ongoing support, and look forward to you joining us as we cheer on the Reds at our new home in Season 2010/11.

Thanks,
The MLSA Team
